Well Here Is A Damn Good Reason
A father passing by his son’s bedroom was astonished to see that his bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then he saw an
Envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow that was addressed to ‘Dad.’
With the worst premonition he opened the envelope
with trembling hands and read the letter.
It is with great regret and sorrow that I’m writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you.
I have been finding real passion with Stacy and she is so nice.
But I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercing, tattoos, tight motorcycle clothes and the fact that she is much older than I am. But it’ s not only the passion…Dad she’s pregnant.
Stacy said that we will be very happy.
She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.
Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn’t really hurt anyone.
We’ll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the other people that live nearby for cocaine and ecstasy.
In the meantime we will pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Stacy can get better. She deserves it.
Don’t worry Dad. I’m 15 and I know how to take care of myself.
Someday I’m sure that we will be back to visit so that you can get to know your grandchildren.
Love, Your Son John
PS. Dad, none of the above is true. I’m over at Tommy’s house.
I Just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than the failing Report card That’s in my center desk drawer.
I love you.
Call me when it’s safe to come home. .
Best Used Before Expiration Date
Through the year’s I have learned to take care of things. For example, a flat screen t.v. we bought. After every use I put a small blanket over it to keep the dust off. I do maintenance on my Trek bicycle twice a year, and it’s ten years old with thousands of miles on it and although I’ve put new parts on it the bike still run’s like it’s brand new. Most recently I got a Xbox that I cover with a small towel (again to keep the dust out).
All of this seems to be a source of entrainment to friends and family, they get a laugh and call me “Monk” because I go out of my way to cover up and put things were they belong. But I can understand why. Nearly every single one of us spend half our life’s doing a little less then taking care of ourselves or the things we own. Right from the start as children we lose the pieces of a game or lost a crayon and can’t explain why. When my kids were young I repeatedly warned them to take care of there Nintendo or there CD’s to no avail.
But I can most certainly look back and remember a lot of thing’s I did. There was nothing I owned that could not be replaced which included losing a home I once owned or the various vehicles that I broke numerous laws in. Tens of thousands of bad decisions including monumental partying; as I roadie for lot’s of band’s in the 80’s “beggin your pardon Charlie” ya got nothing but Hollywood, ” Losing” leads a person to make better decisions as they get older. It’s the way of life and it’s difficult to teach children that. It’s just something we learn with time.
Nowadays I can’t get in a car without freeking out doing 20mph and thinking that a crash is eminent and my time is up and I certainly can’t afford ANYTHING so I try to take care of what I got. I probably should be eating better but some lessons are never learned but at least I see the light now. Tomorrow is my birthday and with all that is happening in the world and at my age; the expiration date has new meaning, but one of the best parts of life is learning from your mistakes and being able to say I wouldn’t change a thing.

Ruffing up the kids brains.
Got this in my email this morning and it really hits dead on. May be if you are reading this you might think to pass it on, preferably to a clueless child!
Don’t you hate it when hypothesis are proven true with experiments and then actually introduced into real life…
An economics professor at a local college made a statement
that he had never failed a single student before, but had once
failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked
and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich,
a great equalizer.
The professor then said, “OK, we will have
an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”.
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive
the same grade so no one would fail and no one would
receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone
got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the
students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied
little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard
decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D!
No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling
all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the
benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that
socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is
great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes
all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that.
(Please pass this on)
I can tell you my family is grateful for the donations by many and I have personally seen what Shriners can do for children.
With all that is happening with our Government and the economy, charity is taking the big hit and that only means many who need help will not get it. The children of the world do not and should not understand about Government or health care or what a bad economy means.
However we as adults do, whether or not you think we should have universal heath care or not charity is the one true thing anyone can do….Because it’s within ourselves to do so.
Right now I do not care who is right about the state of our country, what I care about is a child who needs help. And we can all make a difference believe me.
If you have a coin, throw it there way. Or find a charity you think you might be able to help with.
If at the very least you can do check out the charity at the top right hand corner of my blog, IT’S FREE….Just watch a 15 sec. video, check off a star rating and there you go you have just donated…Thanks to my readers and all that support a charity.
As I sit here watching my Grandson a Interesting thought crossed my mind.
Have you ever tried watching a 1 year old little boy?
With every step my grandson takes I find myself trying to protect him!,, As a parent we try our best to care for our children, but kids are kids!
So the weee one starts to fuss and I set him down off my lap, Those first steps of kids are just too precious! With every step he takes my hands cradle his head so as not to catch a corner and such,,,At the same time this is happening I am looking out the window and I see his Father trying to ‘ out do’ his brother! Flipping a piece of wood on wheels calling it a “Ollie or a ‘Front three sixty man! ( what ever ! Iam sure I have it wrong) !
Really? Skate boards !!,,,In the street!! Is this why I am protecting your head!
I look down at the little kid and ask my self ? What crazy ass shit are you going to do to, and I am not kidding you he looks at me and smiles!
Fck ya you pay them back kid!
